I am a Master Composter, certified through the
Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, as part of the Clean Texas 2000 program. The Master Composter training
course is available in many areas in Canada and the United States; check with your local
Recycling Coordinator or Parks Department for details. Courses include instruction in
backyard composting, vermi-composting (worm composting), and recycling. Community
service projects are encouraged, and at least in some areas, necessary for certification. For
information on commercial composting, check with your extension agent.
The purpose of this site is to draw together resources on composting and recycling. The
Compost Heap is evolving as a result of an online HTML class at Virtual University. It is
through their patience and generosity that this web site is possible.
