  If you are just starting out by using Notepad (Windows) or Simple Text (Mac) the beginning steps of creating and saving a .txt file as a template, and then saving it as an .htm file can be confusing. Once you have created your basic .htm file, and can open it in your browser to see the changes you have made, you will be well on your way to creating your first page. I have included the instructions from the class on doing this, along with screen shots.
