There are two issues to deal with in using fonts on your web pages. The first is the fonts that you will use in the text on your pages. It is best to use the standard fonts that most people have installed on their computers. If you use non-standard fonts, you will see them and they may look wonderful, but many other people will not be able to see them. Your pages may look very different than you had intended. Following is a list of the default fonts that you can safely use:

Mac Fonts: Chicago, Courier, Geneva, Helvetica, Monaco, New York, Palatino, Symbol, Times, Zapf Dingbats.

Windows Fonts: Arial, Comic Sans MS, Courier New, Modern, MS Sans Serif, Symbol, Times New Roman, Wingdings

The second use for fonts in creating web pages is their use in graphics. A really nice text graphic can look much better than just using a Heading tag. Special fonts can really convey a certain mood or feeling in your logo or banner for your site. And dingbat fonts can be used to male wonderful icons or decorations for your pages. I freely admit to being a "font addict" !  :->
